IMPORT EXPORT is pleased to announce the opening of “Corporate Paintings", the new solo exhibition by Aleksandra Sidor at Salon by IMPORT EXPORT in London.
Aleksandra Sidor (b. 1991, Poland) is a painter based in Tomaszów Lubelski, PL. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bournemouth in 2019. Influenced by Polish avant-garde movements, psychoanalysis as well as posthuman studies, Sidor developed an idiosyncratic painting idiom: figurative, yet richly ornamental; symbolic, yet infused with irony. Rendering the transformative encounters between human bodies and other beings, she examines the intimate dynamics within these relationships.
Aleksandra Sidor's past exhibitions include Eyes Without a Face, IMPORT EXPORT, Warsaw, 2025; FW pt.2, High Art, Paris, 2025; Cortical Systematix, High Art Paris x Lomex Gallery, Arles, 2024, Test Drive, Gratin, New York, 2023; Unreliable narrator, east contemporary, Milan, 2023; A human being after all, east contemporary, Milan, 2023; and others.

"Corporate Paintings" is Sidor's second exhibition with the gallery after "Eyes Whitout A Face" presented at IMPORT EXPORT, Warsaw, at the begging of this year.
"Lately, painting feels like a return to something I don’t remember forgetting. I say I’ll stop, but I never do. Each time, it’s the same: I sit in front of the surface, and something slips. A mark appears. I don’t know if it’s mine. I don’t know if I’m thinking or being thought. I only know that once I begin, the distinction between vision and memory, gesture and glitch, flesh and symbol starts to dissolve.
Painting now lives in a state of exposure - prehistoric in instinct, volatile in form. It comes from the body, but moves through systems we barely perceive. Brushstrokes become code. Images become symptoms. They are not illustrations - they are readings (...)"
